Patna Golghar Timings, Entry Fee, Laser Show Tickets and Timings
Golghar of Patna city is one of the most visited places of Bihar capital. Every day thousands of people came to visit this place and during the weekend, a long queue of visitors can be seen here. It near the famous Gandhi Maidan of Patna and Panoramic view of this city can be seen from the top of Golghar.
Patna Golghar History
It was built as a godown for the storage of grain during the time of famine. There was the planning to build more structures like that, however, no more were built after the construction of Golghar. Governor-General of India Warren Hastings ordered the construction of Golghar in 1784 and it took 2 years in the building of this storage house. Bihar government is the owner of Golghar.
Architect and Dimensions
The architect of Golghar is look like a stupa. The architecture of this granary was Captain John Garstin. The diameter of this round shaped building is around 35 meter from the base. Height is 29 meter and 145 stair steps are wrapping around the building to reach on the top. The roof is open from the top for easy loading and unloading of the grains.

The timings of Golghar Patna are from 10 AM to 5 PM from Tuesday to Sunday. Monday is the weekly off. Detailed Time Table is written below:

Golghar Laser Show Timing and Tickets
A laser show is also organized in the premise of Golghar. Laser show demonstrates the history of Golghar and Patna. Laser show in only organized in the evenings of weekends from Friday to Sunday. Timings of laser shows start from 6 PM and first show timing is 6.15 PM and second show time is from 7.15 PM. Ticket sale for the same starts 30 minutes prior to the show. Ticket price is 30 Rs.
Golghar Address and How to Reach
It is located in the main Patna city near the Gandhi Maidan and Ganga river. It is one of the most important and famous landmark. Patna railway station is just 2.5 KM from here and visitors can reach via sharing autos or other modes of public transport. Other places of interest like Mahavir temple, Indira Gandhi Planetarium, Gandhi Maidan are under radius of 3 Km from here.
