This Tamil Nadu T20 series is known as the Tamil Nadu Premier League or TNPL. The Tamil Nadu Premier League was established and managed by Tamil Nadu State Cricket Association (TNCA). The first season of TNPL was played in August 2016. This T20 domestic tournament is inspired from Indian Premier League (IPL). Final of Tamil Nadu Premier League was played between TUTI Patriots and Chepauk Super Gillies, TUTI Patriots won this title by a mammoth margin of 122 runs.
