Datia Pitambara Peeth is a very famous Shaktipeeth located in Datia Madhya Pradesh. Every day thousands of people came to this temple to seek the blessing of goddess. Saturday is the special day dedicated to this goddess and on this day lakhs of people around the country visit this temple.
History of Pitambara Peeth Datia
It is temple of Baglamukhi which was established in 1920 Shri Swami ji Maharaj. Dhumavati Mata deity was also established in the temple at later stage. As per few websites a shamshan ghat (cremation ground) was present at this place. Swami ji Maharaj of Datia built a temple on this place. In the temple of Dhoomwati mata entry of married women is restricted, which is a strange thing. Salty prasad like samosa, kachori, bhajiya etc. offered to the Dhoomvati Mata. As per the belief she is the goddess of widow women. Many other temples are built in the complex like Shivlinga, Kal Bhairav, Parshuram, Hanuman, etc.
This Peeth is maintained by a trust. It has an Ashram, Library, etc.

Peetambara Mata Temple Timings
Timings of temple are 7 AM to 9 PM. Temple opens at 7 in the morning and closes at 9 in the evening after the Badi Aarti. It remains closed in afternoon from 12 PM to 2 PM.
Dhumawati Mata Temple Timings
Dhumawati Mata temple remains open for Darsan only on Saturday only and entry of married women is restricted in the temple. Saturday Darshan timings are 7.15 AM to 9 AM in morning and 5 PM to 8 PM in the evening. On all days darshan are available in the morning at 8 and evening in the 8 during the aarti time.

Location, Address, Map and How to Reach
Temple is located in Datia city of Madhya Pradesh. Shri Peetambra Peeth Devi Mandir is just 3 KM from the Datia Railway station. It is located on Station road and most famous landmark of city. Devotees came here from nearby villages, cities and other parts of the country specially on auspicious day of Saturday. Datia is well connected through rail and road mode. Datia railways station is well connected from all the parts of the country. Auto Rickshaws and shared tempo are available as a mode of local transport. Datia is located in between of Gwalior and Jhansi city. Gwalior is 75 KM and Jhansi is 27 KM from here.

Peetambara Devi Mandir Facilities, Information
It is located on main station road. Prasad shop and flower shops are located outside the temple. Trust run Prasad shops provide tasty sweet prasad (Peda, Barfi, Laddoo) at low price as compared to market. Electronic devices, mobiles, camera, leather items are prohibited in the temple. Footwear, bags, belts can be deposited at the counter located near the entry gate. Mobiles can be deposited at the mobile deposit counter by paying a fee of just 2 Rs (as per 2017 visit). Vehicles can be parked on the road. Multiple food outlets are available outside the temple.
This is a must visit place of Datia and many VIP of country including President of India visited this temple in the past. It is nice and clean temple provides good amenities to the visitors. 20 to 30 minutes are sufficient to visit this temple except Saturday. Visitors should also visit Bir Singh Palace of Datia.
