Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrhalaya is the official name of Indore Zoo. Indore Chidiya Ghar is situated in the Navlakha area. It was opened in 1974 in 17 acre area, and in 1999, 32 acres of land of Quadibag were acquired by Zoo authorities to extend the zoo area to 51 acres. The zoo is owned, managed, and operated by the Indore Municipal Corporation. It is one of the most visited places in Indore city and is very famous among the people of Indore.

Indore Zoo opens from Tuesday to Sunday and the closing day is Monday. Visiting hours are 9 AM to 7 PM in summer and 9 AM to 6 PM in winter. Indore Zoo ticket price 2025 for Indian nationals is 20 Rs, and foreigners have to pay 100 Rs for the entry ticket of Indore Zoo. Children under 2 years of age are eligible for free entry. Still camera charges are 50 Rs and for video camera, visitors need to pay 100 Rs. Snake park ticket price is 5 Rs. Wildlife guided tour also available in the Indore zoological park for schools, foreigners, tourists, and students. Two hours is sufficient to visit the entire zoo. Animals in Indore Zoo

Indore Zoo has various carnivores, herbivores, and omnivorous animals. The zoo is famous for white tigers, Royal Bengal tiger, panther, Himalayan Bear, elephants, crocodiles, Asiatic lions, white peacocks, Emu birds, foxes, different types of monkeys, and bears. Various types of exotic birds, trees, and plants are also present here.

Winter and Monsoon season is considered the best seasons to visit Indore Zoo, in summer temperature can climb up to 45 degrees Celsius. The zoo is 2 Km away from the Indore junction railway station, and Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar international airport is 11 KM away from the Zoo. Visitors can take the city bus service, auto, or cabs to reach. Holkar cricket stadium is less than 4 KM away from the Zoo.
