Aguada fort is a seventeenth-century Portuguese fort located in the north of Goa. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations of Goa. Every day thousands of visitors came here to see this wonderful fort. It was built in 1612 near the mouth of Mandovi river. This fort offers a spectacular view of Arabian sea. About Aguada Fortress
Fort complex has a lighthouse and a jail. Lighthouse was built in 1864 for the safe harbor of the ships. Aguada jail is one of the largest jail of Goa and now it is closed for public visit. Few shots of Dil Chahta hai movie also shot here along with Chopara fort of Goa. So, it is popular among the tourists as Dil Chahta Hai fort.

Goa Aguada fort timings are from 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM on all the days. No weekly off for this fort. It opens at 8.30 in morning and closes at 5.30 in the evening. Entry is completely free for all.

It is located in north Goa and most of the tourist’s head to the northern part of the Goa for fun and party. Aguada fort is situated in Candolim area and it just 5 Km from Calangute area. Baga area is around 8 KM from here.
Travel Tips, Facilities, and Information
Parking is available in this area outside the entry gate of the fort. Photography and videography is allowed inside and outside the premises. Visitors are advised to take the camera along with them to click memorable shots. Goa weather is little hot in all the months and some walking is required to cover the entire fort. Always wear light and comfortable cloth and shoes. Carry water bottle along with you. At least an hour is required to visit this place. Morning and evening time is best to visit this place.
