Chapora fort is a Portuguese fort located in the Bardez area of North Goa. It is one of the most visited attractions of Bardez, Goa. Every year thousands of people came to visit this fort. A few shots of Bollywood blockbuster movie Dil Chahta hai was shot in this fort. After the movie, this fort starts gaining attention among the visitors. Popularly this fort is known as Dil Chahta Hai fort of Goa. About Chapora Fort
The current fort was built in 1717 on the location of some another fort, which was already present at that time. This fort is located on the mouth of the Chapora river where it meets the Arabian sea. This fort offers a 270 degree spectacular view of Chapora river and the Arabian sea. This place is very popular among all age groups of people. You will see many Photo Fanatics, nature and adventure lovers here. View of Vagator beach can be seen from the top of the Chapora fort.
Chapora Fort Timings and Entry Fee
Fort entry timings are 10 AM and closing time is 5.30 PM. The last entry will be granted till 5 PM. There is no week for Chopara fort. 1 hour visit is sufficient to visit the fort. Entry is completely free for all.

Chapora Fort Address and How to Reach
It is located in North Goa and near to Vagator beach of North Goa. Public transport connectivity is limited in this area, therefore, reaching here through cabs, scooter, or bikes are recommended. It is around 10 KM far from the Calangute area. We went there through hired scooty from Calangute area. We followed the whole route through the Google maps.
Travel Tips, Facilities, and Information
Parking facility is available at the bottom of the fort. Two wheelers and other vehicles can be parked in the paid area. Temporary food stalls are located near the parking area to sell water bottles and snacks. A little steep walk is required to reach the entry gates of the fort. Comfortable clothes, water bottle, and shoes are preferred while making the plan of this fort. Don’t reach here before the time, as gates are open at 10 AM only. Do not forget to bring the camera along with you to click memorable pictures at this fort.
