Shankar’s International Dolls Museum Delhi Timings, Entry Fee and Nearest Metro
Doll Museum Delhi is located in Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg on ITO area. It is officially known as Shankar’s International Dolls Museum. It was established on 30 November, 1965 by K. Shankar Pillai (political cartoonist). The museum is located in Children’s Book Trust building (Nehru House) on first floor. It spreads in the area of 5,184.5 square feet.
About Doll Museum
Shankar’s International Dolls Museum is one of the oldest and renowned museum of Delhi. It was inaugurated by then President of India Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in 1965. At the time of opening the doll numbers were only 500. Today Dolls Museum has more than 6500 dolls of 85 Nations. Most of the dolls displayed at the museum are coming as a gift from other nations. Several Prime Ministers, several embassies and diplomatic missions gifted dolls to this museum. These dolls are displayed in over 160 glass cases, mounted on walls in the enclosures.
The Museum is classified in two parts. One part is designated for dolls from European countries, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Commonwealth of Independent States, etc. Second part consists various dolls of India, Middle East, Asian countries and Africa. 150 Indian costume dolls are also available in the museum, the costumes of these dolls are prepared in the Doll Museum workshop.

The Doll Museum Timings are 10 AM to 6 PM. Doll Museum opening time is 10 AM in the morning and closing time is 6 PM, however, last entry allowed till 5.30 PM. Doll museum entry fee is nominal, Adult ticket price is 15 Rs and Child entry is only 5 Rs excluding service tax. Final ticket price with service charge is Rs 18 for Adults and Rs 6 for kids. Doll Museum weekly off is Monday.
Drinking water and washroom facility is available inside the museum. Photography is restricted inside the museum, however mobile phones are allowed inside the complex. Food is not allowed inside the museum. Dedicated parking is not allowed and vehicles can be parked on the road side.

Doll Museum is located on ITO near Ram Charan Agarwal Chowk. Delhi Metro is the best way to reach the museum. Shankar’s International Dolls Museum nearest metro station is ITO of Violet line. Doll Museum is located on the opposite of Gate no.4 of ITO metro station. ITO is well connected from all parts of Delhi. Visitors can reach here by other modes of public transport like DTC bus, Auto Rickshaw, Ola, Uber cab, etc.
It is a great place for kids and adults will also enjoy the visit of Doll Museum. 1 to 2 hours visit is sufficient for this place. Other tourist places which are near to Doll Museum are India Gate, Delhi Zoo, Purana Qila, National Science Centre and National Museum.
