About Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park Ganktok
Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park of Gangtok is spreads in a large area of 205 hectare. It is a high altitude zoo similar to Darjeeling Zoo. It is located on an altitude of 5860 feet to 8000 feet. This zoological park consists of various flora and fauna in Himalayan region. Many endangered species are kept here in large enclosure and authorities tried to provide natural habitat to these species. Limited number of animals are kept here due to topography of the region. Here animals are kept in large open enclosure and zoo officials are trying to conserve the endangered species of animals including Red Panda. Mountaineering institute is also located in the same campus. The zoological park has limited number of animals and birds, however, it is very clean. Bengal Tiger, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Wolf, Himalayan Bear, Black Panther, blue ship, are the main attractions of this zoo. Various colorful birds are also kept here.

Gangtok zoo opening time is 9 AM and it closes it 4 PM. It remains closed on every Thursday due to weekly off. Kindly check the timings of Gangtok Zoo before making any plan. Morning is the best time to visit this zoo. February to May and September to December are the best time to visit this park.
Gangtok Zoo Entry Fee 2024
Entry fee for Gangtok zoological park is 25 Rs for Adult and 10 Rs for Child. Vehicles can also be allowed at certain points inside the zoo. Small car fee is 40 Rs and Big car (SUV or MUV) fee is 100 Rs. Camera and video camera are allowed inside the park free of cost.
