Himachal Pradesh Election Results 2017

Himachal Pradesh is one of the hilly states of India and it is election time here. Once in every five years, Himachal like any other state come across the assembly election, to decide which political party will hold Cm ffice for the next five years. The decision of voters will be declared today, which was sealed in the EVM more than a month back. on 18 December 2017, trends will start to float and we expect to get the final result by the evening of same day. Himachal Pradesh assembly constituency formed on 25th January 1971. Total 12 districts are present in the HP state. The total population of the state is 68,56,509 as per 2011 census. Shimla is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. Elections for legislative assembly are due in 2017. Current term of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha is from 8 January 2013 to 7 January 2018. The current term is valid till 7 January 2018, therefore elections will be held this year for electing chief minister and MLA for the state.

Himachal Pradesh Election Updates 2017

Himachal Pradesh elections have been completed in all the constituencies. voting was comducted on 9 November and it was really peaceful during the voting hours. It was very good too see more than 70% voters came oout to vote for their favourite political party. Overall Himachal Pradesh voter turnout was 74%, it was higestin the period of last 4 years. A postive aspect of the Himachal Pradesh elections 2017. Voting figure was shared by election commission and they stated that it might go up from 74%. Vote casting started early in the morning and it continued till 5 PM.

About Himachal Pradesh Assembly

Total 68 assembly seats are present in the state and 35 seats are required to win and form the government in the state. These 68 assembly seats are falls under 4 Lok Sabha seats. Currently Indian National Congress is ruling in the state and Virbhadra Singh is the elected chief minister of the state. Bharatiya Janata Party is the main opposition party of the state. Congress won 2012 elections by defeating BJP.

Main issues of the elections are corruption, unemployment, inflation, law and order, economic slowdown. Etc. Generally the issues of the this state are also same as other states.
