New Delhi World Book Fair 2017 has started on 7th January 2017. The event is being hosted in Pragati Maidan and dates are 7 to 15 January 2017. It will be an event specially dedicated to books. It is a treat for all the book lovers. Various authors and publishers are present in the Delhi World Book Fair. This event is organised every year in Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Tickets are available on selected metro stations and Pragati Maidan counters.
It is Asia’s Largest Book fair and also known as NDWBF. Hall No. 7 (A to E), 8 to 11, 12, 12A, 14, 18 and Hangar 18 A are allocated for the fair. This event is organised by National Book Trust (NBT), India. Since 2013, the book fair is organised by National Book Trust (NBT), India and its co-organiser is India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). The World Book Fair is being organised since past 44 years. There is a special event organised by National Centre for Children’s Literature (NCCL) for visiting children. The event is organised to promote the children’s literature and motivate readers.

The New Delhi Book fair 2017 tickets will be available on Pragati Maidan counters and selected metro station. Last year, the ticket prices were 20 Rs for adults and 10 Rs for children. This year the prices are 30 Rs for adults and 20 Rs for children. Students entry is free (in school uniform). Book Fair entry tickets can be bought from counters located at gate number 1, 2, 5, 7 and 10.
List of Metro stations selling New Delhi Book Fair Tickets
There are selected metro stations where book fair tickets are available. On every metro line, few metro stations are designated for this purpose.
Yellow Line Metro stations are Jahangirpuri, HUDA City Centre, Chandni Chowk, GTB Nagar, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Hauz Khas, Central Secretariat, Saket, INA, MG Road, Vishwavidyalaya.
On Blue line, metro stations selling book fair tickets are Janakpuri West, Dwarka More, Pragati Maidan, Kirti Nagar, Vaishali, NOIDA City Centre, Rajendra Place, Dwarka sector 21.
The Red line metro stations on Rithala – Dilshad Garden line are Rithala, Dilshad Garden, Inderlok, Pitampura, Kashmere Gate, Rohini West, Netaji Subhash Place.
The various metro station on Green line are Punjabi Bagh, Mundka, Paschim Vihar East, Ashok Park Main.
Violet line metro station are Escorts Mujesar, Nehru Place, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Badarpur, Bata Chowk, Old Faridabad.
On Airport line, IGI Airport metro station and Dhaula Kuan metro station are selected for the purpose.

The entry timings of the venue will start at 11 AM and will close at 7:30 PM. However, the Book Fair timing is 11 AM to 8 PM. The tickets will be sold between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at metro stations. At Pragati Maidan ticket counters, it will be sold from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

Pavilions In Book Fair Delhi
There are few attractions of World Book Fair this year. Children pavilion is specially designed for the little ones. Digital books are also included in the fair, along with comics, picture books, science fiction books etc. Hall 14 is dedicated to children literature. National Book Trust has completed 60 years of span successfully, hall 7 B and 7A will showcase its glorious journey. Hall 7E is allotted to themed pavilion. Foreign pavilion is set up in hall no 7A, 7B and 7C. Cultural shows will be held in Hamsadhwani Theatre.
The Pragati Maidan Book Fair has all the required facilities. Food counters are present inside the premises and parking is also available. Many washrooms are also present inside the campus. Pragati Maidan Delhi hosts various events round the year and it is well maintained. Every book lover should visit Delhi Book Fair 2017.
